All-In-One Tool For Assembly Of Upper Receiver Parts

The Magpul BEV Block – AR-15 Vise Block Tool is an all-in-one tool for assembly operations of barrel nuts, flash hiders, and other barrel extensions. It provides support for both billet and forged upper receivers by mounting securely in a vise during assembly.

It works by engaging the barrel extension with solid steel lugs and supports the shank to prevent flexing. The tool is useful to optimize for stability when assembling your rifle but won’t damage the barrel extension which ensures a smooth but stable operation.

Covered With Magpul Polymer For Protection

The BEV can also be turned over and used as a mag well vise block to support the lower receiver for maintenance or other operational needs. An O-ring post uses the bolt carrier for additional stability and the included pin keeps the upper in the proper position.

All engagement surfaces are covered with Magpul polymer to protect the aluminum receiver from scratches and unnecessary damage.

Features:

  • Provides support for all AR15/M4 upper and lower receivers
  • Solidly engages barrel extension with steel lugs

  • Made in the U.S.A.

Necessary

I didn't realize how much I needed this until I decided to realign my barrel and the tool wouldn't go in because my setup was misaligned. Also no more unnecessary stress/twisting on the upper lugs while torquing down. As a mechanic I know better and normally have the right tools for every job - this is one of those tools.

Thanks for sharing your feedback! We're glad you're satisfied with your purchase.

Works as advertised, but...

Ok, first, I like the BEV Block for what it is.

I usually use a Geissele Reaction Rod for upper work and for removing barrel nuts, but I wanted to try a BEV Block too having never used one before.

I found the BEV to be not as good as the Geissele Reaction Rod for especially tight or seized barrel nuts because sometimes it tends to pivot in the vice if you are using heavy torque to remove the especially tight or seized barrel nut.

Other than that, the BEV Block overall works as advertised for what it is, and I can find uses for it so it gets added to the tools collection and not to the trash can.

I'm rating it four stars because; The BEV Black has a tendency to pivot a little in the vice at times as stated above - and - to keep the upper steady enough you need an additional piece in the form of a bolt carrier to insert in the back so the upper doesn't wiggle up and down very much.
