The Glock 17’s full size slide and frame make it an ideal fit for duty and competition use, but there’s always room for improvement. Upgrading to a threaded barrel to mount a suppressor, adding a red dot sight to go with an optics ready slide, and a huge variety of pistols and lightened disconnectors can turn an off-the-shelf pistol into a high-performance beast. And especially for taming recoil of +P ammo, adding a compensator to your threaded barrel allows you to squeeze tons of velocity out of the Glock 17, while remaining controllable.
