Tippmann Arms was established in 1983 by Dennis Tippmann Sr. in Fort Wayne, IN, initially manufactured sought-after collectible half-scale .22LR and .22 Mag, caliber belt-fed replicas of Browning machine guns. Due to changes in gun laws in 1986, the family-owned company shifted its focus and founded Tippman Pneumatics, enter the paintball industry.
Since then, Tippmann Arms has been producing the M4-22, a .22LR caliber semi-automatic rifle, along with several other rifle and pistol versions based on the popular AR platform. The company invested in new technology, adding 4-axis CNC machines and state-of-the-art gun drilling and rifling equipment for increased quality and efficiency.
