California Orders & AB 1263 Compliance

Our Commitment to California Customers

We believe law-abiding California residents deserve access to quality firearm parts and accessories. While California laws continue to add complexity and friction to lawful commerce, our goal is to remain compliant without walking away from the California 2A community.

California Assembly Bill 1263 (“AB 1263”) imposes new requirements on firearm-related product sales and deliveries. Below is a clear explanation of what this means for orders shipping to California and how our process works.

What to Expect When Ordering From California

1) Required Warning Acknowledgment at Checkout

If your shipping address is in California, you will be required to review and acknowledge a warning mandated by AB 1263 before submitting your order. This acknowledgment is required by law and must be completed before checkout can be finalized.

2) Identity & Age Verification After Checkout

After placing your order, you will be prompted to upload a valid government-issued photo ID.

You can upload your ID:

  • On the order confirmation (checkout success) page, or
  • Using the secure link sent to your email after checkout

Important details:

  • ID upload is required once per order
  • We are not storing ID images
  • We are not currently saving verification data to customer accounts
  • A future option to store the minimum required verification data may be added, but there is no ETA at this time
  • Orders shipping to California will not be processed until ID verification is completed.

3) Shipping Address Must Match Your ID

For California orders, the shipping address must exactly match the address on your uploaded ID.

  • The address on your ID becomes the shipping address
  • This applies regardless of what is entered during checkout
  • This requirement is mandatory under AB 1263 and is not optional
  • If the address does not match, the order cannot ship, will be cancelled and refunded.

4) Manual Review During Initial Rollout

For the first several weeks of implementation, every California order will be manually reviewed after ID submission to ensure accuracy and compliance.

This extra step may add some processing time, but it allows us to roll this out responsibly while minimizing errors and delays.

5) Adult Signature Required on Delivery

  • All California shipments are sent with Adult Signature Required (18+). This does incur an additional fee that will be shown at checkout.
  • Each package will include the required AB 1263 delivery notice:
  • “Signature and proof of identification of person aged 18 years or older required for delivery.”

The recipient must present valid ID and sign for delivery.

Processing Time for California Orders

California orders subject to AB 1263 verification may take 1-4 business days to process.
Once all required information is submitted:

  • Verification typically completes within 1 business day
  • In some cases, verification may take up to 4 business days
  • Orders will not ship until verification is complete, regardless of shipping method selected

Firearm Barrels & California Orders (Effective On or Before January 1)

Due to additional California requirements and pending integration with our FFL verification software, we will temporarily pause shipping firearm barrels to California on or shortly before January 1.

We expect this pause to be short-term and are actively working toward a solution. In the meantime, we recommend supporting your local gun store for barrel purchases.

Brand-Specific Shipping Restrictions

  • Some manufacturers have chosen to stop sales to California entirely.
  • We value our industry partnerships and will:
  • Present our compliance process to affected brands
  • Request permission or a waiver to continue selling their products to California customers

However, final decisions rest with each manufacturer. If a brand restricts California sales, we must honor that decision.

Why We’re Doing This

California laws like AB 1263 are designed to slow or complicate firearm-related commerce. While these requirements add cost, friction, and processing time, we believe finding a compliant path forward is better than abandoning responsible California customers.

We appreciate your patience as we continue adapting to an evolving regulatory environment.
