  • About the build

To honor our troops this month, we’ve partnered with Luth-AR to build two classically stylized AR-15 rifles that showcase the evolution of Eugene Stoner’s iconic rifle as it was carried through the ages.

The first rifle in the stack is an icon in and of itself. Featuring all of Luth-AR’s A1 furniture, we’ve built a retro-classic with a 20″ pencil profile barrel, triangular drop in handguard, and the monolithic carry handle upper receiver. Flashing forward to the present, and we land on Luth-AR’s modern A3 furniture on a 16″ government profile barrel, with M-LOK handguard, and the AT3 Alpha Green Dot with our 3x magnifier.

Both rifles are built on the AT3 Tactical Lower receiver, and will make a perfect set for anyone who wants to show how the AR-15 has evolved throughout it’s lifecycle as America’s service rifle.

Upper Receiver Parts

The upper receivers of these two rifles couldn’t be more different. One is a blast from the past featuring a classic triangular handguard on a 20″ pencil profiled barrel attached to a monolithic upper receiver that’s like something straight out of an early 80’s action movie. On the other hand, we have a sleek, lightweight modern build featuring a free floated 16″ government profile barrel with Luth’s M-LOK palm handguard.

Lower Receiver Parts

Both the A3 and A1 lower receivers are built on the AT3 Tactical stripped lower receiver. Both builds also share Luth-ARs AR-15 lower parts kit. The modern build features Luth-AR’s wing pistol grip, AR fire control system, and the MBA-4 stock that Luth is so well known for across the industry. On the classic retro build, we have a standard Mil-Spec trigger with A1 pistol grip and fixed rifle buttstock on Luth’s buffer tube kit.

ACCESSORIES

We’re keeping it light on the accessories for this build. Our modern A3 iteration will come with an AT3 Tactical Alpha Green Dot and a 3x Magnifier, along with a standard 30 round Duramag aluminum magazine. The classic A1 build will feature a sleek 20 round box magazine that’s a callback to when this rifle was cutting brush in the jungles of Vietnam.
