The APOLLO Max from Ultradyne provides competition level recoil reduction and muzzle control. By using a scientific approach and studying thousands of recoil events, Ultradyne engineers have struck a balance between extreme recoil reduction, virtual elimination of muzzle rise, and less aggressive venting of gas. The Apollo S is perfect for shooters who want drastic recoil reduction with less perceived blast. The perfectly sized 5-Port design evens out the recoil event which produces an ultra smooth shot like no other compensator. A timing nut is included for easy installation.

The muzzle break worked perfectly in reducing the recoil BUT the gas as it escapes from the barrel in a side-to-side motion obviously intensified the noise to the point where several trainers using the weapon were extremely troubled by the excessive noise. The tremendous felt concussion that is created by redirecting muzzle gasses to reduce the recoil might be a negative if someone is choosing to install it. It also cause some blow back in the facial area.
In short, it is a well engineered addition and does what it is advertised to do,
