    “Hush” Suppressor-Ready 5.56 11.5″ AR-15 – Team Dream Build

Hush is a rugged 11.5″ 5.56 AR-15 built around suppressed shooting, gas management, and hard-use handling. With a Rosco K9 barrel, KeyMicro muzzle device, KAK downward-venting BCG, Radian Raptor SD charging handle, adjustable gas block, folding stock adapter, and weapon light, this Team Dream Build is made for shooters who want a compact 5.56 suppressor host that looks quiet, tough, and ready to work.

  • About the build

Hush started as a suppressor-ready 5.56 SBR concept built around durability, gas control, and comfort behind the gun. The goal was not to make the lightest rifle possible, but to build something that could take a can, make supersonic 5.56 more manageable, and hold up through range drills, movement, and harder use.

The caliber choice is part of the character of the build. .300 Blackout would be the quieter suppression-focused option, but 5.56 keeps ammo cheaper, easier to find, and familiar for a lot of shooters. The 11.5″ Rosco K9 barrel keeps the rifle compact while still giving the build a serious 5.56 setup for suppressed range use, home-defense roles, competition-style drills, and the occasional LARP session.

The workhorse parts are the gas-management components. The KAK K-SPEC downward-venting BCG, Radian Raptor SD charging handle, and adjustable gas block all support the main point of the rifle: running a suppressor without turning every range trip into a face full of gas. It is heavier than a minimalist SBR, but the weight comes from parts chosen for function, toughness, and suppressor use rather than chasing ounces.

    – Hush uses a Dead Air KeyMicro muzzle device, so suppressor compatibility is tied to the Dead Air KeyMicro/KeyMo-style mounting ecosystem. That is a good fit if the buyer is already set up for that system, but it does limit suppressor mounting options unless the muzzle device is changed.

    – Because Hush uses an 11.5″ barrel and the matching lower uses a stock, assembling the upper and lower in the intended Dream Build configuration creates a short-barreled rifle. NFA rules and processes apply, and the final configuration is the purchaser’s responsibility.

Upper Receiver Parts

The upper is built around an AT3 forged upper receiver, Rosco Manufacturing 11.5″ K9 5.56 barrel, Midwest Industries 10.5″ Slim Line M-LOK handguard, and Dead Air KeyMicro flash hider. That combination gives Hush its compact suppressor-host profile while keeping enough handguard length for a light, sling mount, vertical grip, and accessories.

The suppressed-shooting focus shows up in the operating parts. A KAK K-SPEC downward-venting 5.56 BCG, Radian Raptor SD charging handle, Wojtek adjustable gas block, and Rosco patrol-length gas tube all work together to help manage gas and tune the rifle around the suppressor setup.

Lower Receiver Parts

The lower starts with an AT3 AT-15 stripped lower receiver and adds a Rise Armament RAVE 140 trigger for a cleaner break than a basic mil-spec trigger. A Sylvan Arms flared magwell with integral trigger guard, Timber Creek extended magazine release, Magpul MOE+ grip, and AT3 Pro-Builder lower parts kit round out the controls.

The rear of the rifle is built for compact storage and practical use. A Law Tactical folding stock adapter, Magpul STR stock, AT3 buffer tube, H1 buffer, flat wire buffer spring, Timber Creek QD end plate, and AT3 castle nut give the lower a sturdy stocked setup with folding capability. This is part of what makes Hush compact and convenient, but it also reinforces why the upper and lower need to be sold separately.

ACCESSORIES

Hush uses a C&H Precision STRYKR red dot (subbing for the discontinued ERD-1) on the upper, keeping the optic package simple and fast for the kind of compact 5.56 shooting this build is meant for. It is not trying to be a magnified SPR or long-range setup; the optic choice fits a short, suppressor-ready rifle meant for quick target acquisition.

A Streamlight ProTac Railmount 2L gives the build a serious weapon light option, while the AT3 QD sling mount and Magpul PMAG with magazine assists round out the support gear. The Mission First Tactical REACT short vertical grip and M-LOK rail section add a stronger support-hand reference point up front.
