Carbon Fiber AR-15 Barrel with 416R Stainless Bore

Pioneers of the composite precision barrel, Christensen Arms brings their expertise to the AR-15 with this .223 Wylde barrel.  The match chamber of this barrel shares compatibility with both 5.56 NATO and .223 Remington cartridges, with a 1 in 8 twist rate to stabilize a wide range of projectiles.  That’s just the basics, of course – under the hood, this barrel is something truly special.

Truly Precision Engineering

The barrel begins as a solid bar of 416R stainless steel, which is then button rifled, heat treated and stress relieved, then hand-lapped to ensure the bore is pristine.  After that, the barrel gets turned down to a thin profile, before being restored with multi-directional carbon fiber wrapping.  The carbon fiber keeps the weight down, while improving barrel harmonics and heat distribution.

What results is a barrel that looks very heavy, with a bull profile.  However, this barrel weighs in just over a pound and a half, much like a typical government profile, albeit with far superior balance.  And what you get in your AR-15, is a relatively light barrel with incredible, repeatable accuracy.

This barrel includes a .936 gas block and midlength gas tube.
