Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I know which riser mount to get?
A: For AR's, we generally recommend the .83" mount, since it puts the red dot at basically the exact same height of Mil-spec iron sights. That means if you have a front sight, the red dot will be just at the point of the sight post. This is called "absolute cowitness"
Either of these mounts will work, it's really personal preference. For most people, the .83" mount seems to be the right choice, and it's the most popular. If you would like, you can get the 1" mount and it will sit a little higher than the iron sights. Now, if you have a front sight, it would appear in the lower 1/3 of the red dot sight's window. That is called "lower 1/3 cowitness"
Q: Do I need to use iron sights along with with the RD-50 Red Dot Sight?
A: NO - Iron sights are not required to use this red dot sight! The red dot sight can be used on its own. Many people choose to use iron sights as a backup, but they are optional. This red dot sight will work great on "optics ready" rifles that don't have any iron sights.
Q: How are your prices so low?
A: Since we sell AT3 products directly to the customer, vs selling through a distributor, we are able to pass savings on to you.

I purchased the AT3 to go on the recently purchased Ruger AR556. I used the 1" riser for a better field of vision and zeroed at 50 yards. 1st time out it was shooting 1-1/2" groups at 100 yards from the seated position. I highly recommend this sight if you are on a budget! There are more expensive but not necessiarly better sights on the market. Total for gun & sight under $600.
I just want to say this is the best red dot your going to buy for this price range! I go to the range every week and hit right where i'm aiming it stays at zero. Right in line for cost as any of the more name brand with much more added value! 50,000 hour battery life, rail riser, positive adjustments, clear glass, solid construction, good warranty. I'm so glad i saw beyond other companies offerings and chose this one! This optic feels durable and i hope it outlasts its very long battery life.
Took my M4 out to the range to sight in my RD 50 yesterday. I didnt have to make much adjustment to get it dialed in. This is a nice sight and I will likely buy another for my wife's AR. Thanks also for the quick shipping.
Purchased this based on reviews and searching reviews/articles online. When it arrived in the mail (quickly) I mounted it my rifle, bore sighted it, and was not disappointed at all. Very nice, sturdy, crisp 2 moa dot. Wish it had flip up covers, but all and all great buy.
Easy to attach, Very fast to get sighted in. Finish is superb, very simple to use. Moa of two gives good picture sight, Without covering smaller target at 75 + yards. Delivered fast, After I bought red dot. Purchased their flip up iron sights. Very pleased with my choice. Company is so easy to work with.J Mac.
I purchased the red dot RD-50 reflex sight and had no trouble with getting it to zero, not sure if I like the little opening as I need to use it more. I also purchased the back up folding sights and am having an issue with getting them to zero and the front sight will not fold down now. Prices are good and they arrived ahead of time promised.
I ordered the sight and it was promptly shipped and I received it with in a week. It has a solid durable build and came with a microfiber towel, glass protection, and an key to install with. The .83 riser that I got with it lines the red dot up perfectly with my standard A2 front sight. Couldn't have asked for a better product.
I haven't shot with it yet but it seems to be good quality, a nice bright light and decent fov. No complaints yet but in the past I've had problems with cheap laser mounts vibrating loose under loading. I'll review again as I shoot with it
Got my at3 tactical red dot that came in the mail with free shipping in just two short days . I'm very impressed with the quality of the product I have it mounted on my Saint AR and can't wait to get to the range and shoot it, what a fabulous product for the price
Placed in front of mbus rear sight, had absolute cowitness and was spot on at 25 yards.Crisp red dot. Very accurate right out of the box. Thank you AT3 Tactical.
I've had the RD-50 for a few weeks and have just now been able to put some rounds downrange while using the sight. This sight has proven to be an outstanding product. On the range, it has worked just as well as the more expensive Red Dots being user by other shooters. I cannot be better pleased with the performance.
Works great. Battery life unknown yet. Solid construction, hi riser co-witnesses well with front site. Good product, fast shipping, good packaging.
Ordered two rd-50 Microsoft red dots, didn't get to sight in yet but they are super bright and nice and small but easy to see. They sit low enough that on some gun applications you would be able to co- witness with the iron sights or you can you the riser that they have as a option when you buy it. I have no doubt they will sight in nicely, Especially after reading all the great reviews. This is a best bang for your buck sight, Shipping was fast as well. I'm looking forward to purchasing from at3 tactile again in the near future. Thank you a3t tactical!
very happy with my purchase. Excellent piece of equipment at a very reasonable price. I have mounted it to my rifle but have not had a chance to sight it in yet but I anticipate no issues. I will recommend your company to my shooting friends and will patronize you again.
Just an awesome product for the price. Really good quality and fast shipping.
Awesome red dot. Easy to zero and is a perfect fit for my AR15.
Very easy to use and make adjustments even for someone like myself who has limited experience with sights. Would recommend.
Super fast shipping looks like a good little scope havent been able to zero yet but should have no problem with that. Hope it holds zero like it should.
Timely shipment and receipt. Sight arrived undamaged. Sight atached to rifle and zeroed without any problems.
Great quality, easily attachable, and the brightness settings are very nice. Installed with the optional .83" riser and places the red dot right at the top of the factory iron sight, very nice. Haven't had chance to actually test this Red Dot yet. Will right another review once l test.
I purchased one of these for a new build and it seemed to work great so I bought two more for other rifles I'd built that only had iron sights. I bought the one inch block the first time but the shorter block for the next two and I think I will like the shorter blocks better based on what they look like once I mounted them.
This is a nice sight and well worth the money. When I first looked through it, I noticed that I had a slight "star burst" pattern instead of a nice round dot. It's still useable though. At first I was ready to blame the sight, but then realized that my eyes have astigmatism (affects the ability of the eye to focus evenly). To verify this I took a picture looking through the sight (see attached) and verified that the sight had a nice round dot. Keep this in mind before you blame the sight. I also find the brightness adjustment is somewhat hard to turn and doesn't have nice "clicks" in each position. This is minor point but sight would seem to feel of a higher quality is it had smooth, positive detents. Haven't shot with it yet, but overall satisfied with it thus far. The mount (I got the co-witness height) seems to be excellent quality also. As others have said, shipping was very fast. I would have no problems recommending this sight to others.
I decided to give this sight a try on a pistol that I slapped together recently. I never intend to use a pistol as a primary weapon so I saw no need in pairing it with an aimpoint micro. Had it zeroed in ten shots and it cowitnesses PERFECTLY with my BUS. The sight itself seems to be very well built with a sturdy riser block. There is no skimping on the mounting hardware either. Not the cheap allen screws that strip with the slightest bit of tightening like other budget sights. The lens covers are nice but I fear they will eventually dry out and get brittle, but hey, that's the least of my worries. So far I've only got 300 rounds down range with it, bench shooting, double taps, rapid fire, etc...She's stayed true. I'm I'll hit the range again next week on my lunch break and continue breaking in the pistol and the sight.
If a budget red dot is what you seek, then you cannot go wrong with this sweet little sight.
Got this red dot for a build for my wife's AR. It's a present, and she hasn't seen it yet. So, it hasn't been out to the range, and it's been below freezing here anyway and just don't want to go out. Very sturdy little optic, and love the 2 MOA dot. Only giving it 4 stars because it's still just sitting in the gun safe. Seems to be a good value for what I paid for it. AT3 was a breeze to get it right to my door quickly and free shipping.
This sight was so easy to install on the rail and with the .083 riser, it is a perfect co-witness with the front sight. At the range it was 5 clicks up and two clicks left for a 50 yard zero. A brightness setting of 3 or 4 is fine for a sunny day. A fun day with targets at 50 yards, 100 yards and 200 yards. Thank you AT3 Tactical for a great product and quick shipping!
Basically the same as trijicon mro 2.0
For $75 compared to trijicon $450. Really good
Worked great, fit right out of the box only took a little sighting. Got the riser add on and would definitely recommend it.
nice piece of equipment, great service, nice addition to my rifle
Fast delivery, easy to set up, works great and under $100
Outstanding price on a great product. I'll be picking up 2 more for my next projects.
1. Great accuracy
2. Perfect price.
3. Awesome service.
The sight is Good
I picked up my first AR during the first weekend in December. It was a used AR I picked up at the gun show and it was a complete A2 AR. Had some modifications made to it and ended up upgrading to a free-float handguard, newly threaded barrel, and threw on a Magpul flip-up front sight. Was wanting to put some sort of optic on it without spending more than the entire rifle itself. I settled for this particular red dot over the Bushnell TRS-25 which is what it seems most comparable to. In the end, it did exactly what I wanted it to. I needed something that would suit my A2 appropriately without being too bizarre. I'm happy with it and would definitely recommend it for a budget AR build.
I ordered this for a budget AR build I was working on. The product looks identical to the Bushnell TRS-25 Red Dot but according to the description it has a 2 moa dot instead of a 3 moa dot. The battery life for the A3 is described as 50,000 hours on the lowest setting and the Bushnell TRS-25 is supposed to have 3,000 hours of battery life on the #7 setting. I realize now I wasn't comparing apples to apples. I'm not sure what the A3 battery life is on the same setting so it'll be interesting to see.
The package arrived very quickly so I was impressed with the speed of the shipping. The optic was well packaged and after installing the battery I mounted it on the rifle. I headed for the range and I zeroed it at the 25 yard line. At 25 yards it was about 5" low and only about 1" to the right. The plans for the rifle is a 50 yard and less plinker and maybe some short range 3-Gun stuff. One of the clubs I shoot at has a quarterly 3-Gun but one of the bays sometimes has targets out to 300 yards.
The red dot is clear with a slight bursting of the dot on the brightest two settings. That being said though my eyes aren't as young as they used to be and 16 years ago I had LASIK surgery. I don't know how to tell you if that contributes to the star-bursting. The red dot seems robust enough to handle a little abuse and definitely seems like it will hold zero but only time will tell for sure. The only problem is that the rifle might only see periodic use as I have several others more suited to 3-Gun. I purchased it with the .83" riser and it co-witnesses nicely with my front sight.
The finish on the product was good and the dials have a positive detent and are firm enough on the turn that it won't move between settings on its own.
Overall I'm happy with the product and I have recommended it to friends for their builds.
I ordered as an upgrade to a basic AR. I didn't want to spend more on my optic than I did on my firearm but wanted a decent entry level red dot. This shipped extremely fast and came before I expected. It was easy to install and fits securely. It is a feature rich optic with a bargain basement price point. I could easily have spent 5-10 times what I did on this and ended up with something that was not only more expensive than my firearm but also about as accurate. I have no complaints. It co-witnesses perfectly with the BUIS I purchased here as well and seems to be secure, durable and accurate after 500 rounds. I only wish I would have read the instructions prior to "playing" with it as I didn't notice that it would have only required but a few clicks to sight in. Oh well, I wasn't upset with a few more rounds in the lead sled to adjust it back. Great value and surprising quality.
I am so impressed with this red dot site. It is an amazing value. I just spent the weekend at a huge gun show (INDY 1500) looking at all the available products and saw nothing that even came close to the AT3 RD-50 at the price point. I basically feel that this RD saved me $500 as I was about to by a Trijicon MRO.
I have the the red dot mounted....haven't tried it yet. I am very happy so far and am excited the way it sets up on my AR.
I would most certain purchase again from AT3 Tactical....Thanks Mike
My husband loves this scope and I cannot rave enough about the customer service! Soooo wonderful!!
Very pleased with optics. Fit perfectly on the rail of my m-15. Highly recommend!!!!
I put this on an AR 7.62x39 it co-witnesses perfect with the red dot sitting just on top of the front sight post at 100 yards.
Well made. Easy install. Fairly accurate, red dot did not shift after 100 rounds. Had it mounted to close to the rear iron sight. Which resulted in shooting lower from intended mark. Going to move the sight further front and retest. Initial use is very positive.
Too bright, at 10 with a new battery. I just use #1 setting. Well made and quick delivery.
I haven't had the opportunity to use the red dot, but it was simple to mount along with the optional .83" riser. It seems like a quality product with a great fit and finish. At3tactical processed my order quickly and the product arrived fast. Great company to do business with!
Great product fast shipping
Received sire before receiving ar 15 that the site
Will go on...
Quick and speedy shipping. Received it mere days after ordering it. Very solid build with a tight attachment to rail. Zero wiggle. On point with a windy 22° ND day with blowing snow at 50yds. First shot after zerod in, the tannerite did not stand a chance (50 yds buried in snow). No added weight. Will be a repeated purchase for further AR builds. Great product! $80 can't go wrong.
Reviews from other sites were exceptional, can't go wrong. Beats the eBay crap out there. When I buy my next rifle I'll put another one of these on it. Thanks at3.
The mini red dot sight works flawlessly.
Nice red dot. The .83 riser was a perfect height for an AR.
Fit and finish excellent; works very well. Don't spend 500 when you can buy this for 80.
I have several red dots and short scopes I use on various rifles. Decided to try this one considering the reviews and the price. So far, it is working very well, sighted in easily. Have one mounted on a M&P 15 AR type, have put several hundred rounds w/it so far. Also bought a second red dot and mounted on a VEPR 12 gauge and after about 80 rounds, still holding true. Going to try it soon with a 12 gauge drum I bought for it and rapid fie test it. Will update as needed, but happy with it enough to have bought a second one.
Perfect for the price, installation is simple and had it zeroed in with 5 shots on target! I also notice with this scope it is easy to shot with both eyes open! Quick target acquisition! Make sure you order the 1" riser!
I ran across this sight in a "under 100 bucks" red dot review, where it was highly praised. I am very happy with the purchase, they were a big success as Christmas gifts. The AT3 RD-50 appears to be a top quality sight and makes a great flattop AR sight. Mounting was quick, easy, and to my surprise, on paper with the first shot. Made zeroing fast and easy. Keep up the great work and fast shipping. This is a winner that is sure to last.
Great product great service great price what more could you ask for
This sight is an amazing product for the price you pay for it. Would definitely recommend
